I have had a number of requests for more information on tapping the Lines. I'm not really sure how to go about teaching this on-line but I will do my best. I guess the best place to start is "What are they?" They are deep veins of very strong Earth energy.....Life energy. They run most often in straight lines but sometimes in spirals or circles. The area around where a Line is usually has a pretty strong ambient energy and people are drawn there. Often times, they utilize this ambient energy in their Magickal works and for those familiar with the use of the Lines may tap the Line itself. Next..."How do I find one?"  That's a harder question. The only mapping that I am aware of was done in Europe. That map is readily available online (although incomplete) and for those in that region of the world is the best place to start. For the rest of us it's a matter of being shown where one is, having an atunement to what they feel like to locate more, or being with someone when they "remotely" tap a line and learning from them how to connect with it. This is how I was taught and how I teach others. I know...not much help in an online environment. I can tell you where a very strong Line is that is easy to locate. Sedona. Most people are drawn there by the strong ambient energy created by the Line but are usually unaware of the excistence of the Line itself. There are more of them all over the world, of course, but not being a world traveler myself I have not had the opportunity to map them. There are 2 that I am aware of in Georgia. The one I use is outside of Atlanta and is spiral shaped. Because I have been there and felt the Line before, I can tap it "remotely". Now, on to how to tap and utilize the energy from a Line. This energy must be cycled. Do not attempt to simply draw it up into yourself and hold it there. OUCH! While drawing it up you must also be sending it back down...creating a loop. You become like a conduit for it. When you are ready to send it towards your Magickal work you redirect it. Straight from the line, through you while visualizing your intent and out towards your goal. By doing this, you have the unlimited energy of the Line at your disposal. When done, ground it all back down. I must emphasize that these Lines are DEEP. Like magma deep. While the whole of the planet and everything on it contain energy, the energy from the Lines feels different. It's like being in the energy of Creation....and old...as old as time itself. The first time can be quite distracting so practice alot before attempting Magick. And go slow...remember the OUCH! I'm not sure how much help this will be to you all. I've never attempted to teach about this online. Hopefully, at the very least, some questions have been answered and perhaps now when you are in one of those "high energy" places you will know to look deeper....DEEP down...and perhaps find a Line there. Some very dear friends of mine, Jen and Rip, are trying to get a mortgage. They want this very badly and it is the perfect home for them. It is, in fact, the home that Jen grew up in. So I worked a spell for them today. Being Lughnasad, the time of harvest and reaping the rewards of hard labor, I thought was a very appropriate time. Pooh, the beautiful kitty pictured in my gallery, is my Familiar. I have had other Familiars in my life that are now passed over, but never one quite like her. She could not be more my baby if I had birthed her myself. I did, in fact, raise her from the time she was only a few hours old and her mother rejected her. So, as you can imagine, we are VERY CONNECTED. She has always been drawn to my Magickal Tools and wants to be near when Rituals are in progress but in the past would get skittish whenever power was raised and would run away when strong Magick was being worked. Her hair would stand on end and she would just act very nervous. She was having a hard time learning how to cycle the energy with me. Well, today, she graduated! As I was gathering the herbs for the incense, the appropriate candles and such, She was doing her usual winding in and out amongst the jars and candles, rubbing and purring on everything. As I was writing the spell she was nibbling on the end of my quill(she now has a red smudge of dragon's blood ink on her nose) and draping herself over my grimoire. This is normal behavior for her but when I began to cast the spell, tapping the ley line and gathering that energy for the spell, instead of freaking out like she usually does, she began to circle me, rubbing and meowing, cycling the enrgy with me, around and around she went, hair on end, blue eyes shining, working the spell with me. It was incredible. It was intense. And when we released that energy together, she sat very still, enraptured by the candles, and TOTALLY FOCUSED on the Altar. She sat there like that for about 10 minutes. Even when I opened the circle she was reluctant to leave the Altar. Finally she came to me and sat with me in my chair, draped across my shoulders, nuzzling my neck, grounding herself, totally content. I never thought the connection between us could get any deeper but I was wrong. I am so incredibly happy. She resides within my soul and I am so thankful the universe brought us together.

If you know the location of a Line and can psychicly hone in on it's energy, you can tap into the Line and use it. I live in Florida and use a Line in Georgia. The Lines are different than power grids in that they are more intense and a bit more difficult to tap. Rather than being an area of high energy, they form lines and patterns that are very specific. Places like Sedona have the energy that they do because there is a Line there, a very powerful one. What most people are accessing is the radiant energy from the Line, but not the Line itself. Ley Line Witches tap directly into the Line.

 

In my Family Tradition, in long past days, they were called Spirit Tracks, then came to be called Power Veins, you may have heard them referred to as Ley Lines. Whatever you may call them, they are powerful sources of energy that can be utilized in magickal workings. You could have a thousand Witches, circling wildly, raising all the power they could muster, and still not come close to what is readily available in the Lines. And yet in all my years of practicing the Craft, outside the Family, I have encountered a mere handful of Witches who tap the Lines. So few even know they are there, much less how to utilize them. I have to wonder...is this knowledge being lost in time? Are there others out there who possess this knowledge but are bound to oaths of privacy that are common in Family Traditions? (as I was until recently) So....what to do? I propose this....If you are a Ley Line Witch, or are interested in learning more about it, or even have an opinion on the subject...contact me.
